MEET THE TEAM At Hazard's CycleSport
Matthew was born and raised on the east coast and found cycling through the sport of triathlon. It was during a training camp in Santa Barbara that his life truly changed. While halfway up Gibraltar Road, one of the most iconic climbs in the United States, he decided to find a way to make Santa Barbara home! Over 10 years later he is still in love with that road.
Matthew's experience spans from multi-sport to road racing to ultra-endurance events like Race Across the West. As manager of Hazard's Cyclesport, Matthew is tasked with shepherding this iconic 100+ year old business while making sure the team stays true to the age-old tenets of Hazard's. Treat everyone the same, take care of the community,, and keep people pedaling.

He eventually rode for a Specialized Devo team, Whole Athlete, traveling across the US riding and racing. This both built and fueled the passion that brought him to Hazards as a mechanic.
When he’s not wrenching at the shop he’s riding in the Santa Barbara mountains, climbing Gibraltar or riding the ridge. Doing wheelies into sunsets.
